When infrared goes wrong.

A failed infrared attempt

Ok. Life in infrared ain’t all rosy (no pun intended).

The shots I thought might be naff ended up inspiring me.

The shots I thought would be fantastic are rubbish!

Take this one for example…. I created a long exposure facing into the sun, feeling confident that the left hand side of the shot would be bathed in the warmth of the sun’s rays creating a striking contrast of snow and trees. In reality, all this meant is that I was shooting into shadows and failed to find any highlights or definition in the shot, rendering it useless in infrared.

It’s not even a decent shot without the infrared… epic fail!

Still – onwards and upwards. It ain’t easy being a photographer.

Some (slightly) more successful infrared shots are available in the Taraji Blue infrared photo gallery.
